Poor Installation
Poor installation is a common cause of roof leaks, where improper sealing, inadequate fastening, or shoddy workmanship can compromise the integrity of the roofing system, allowing water to infiltrate and create leaks over time.
Condensation
Attic condensation can lead to roof leaks when warm, moist air from the living space below rises into the attic, condenses on the underside of the roof deck, and eventually causes water damage if not properly ventilated or insulated.
Flashing Leak
Flashing leaks often occur when the metal or rubber flashing around chimneys, vents, or other roof penetrations becomes damaged or improperly sealed, allowing water to seep in and compromise the waterproofing of the roof.
Hail Damage
Hail damage can puncture or crack roofing materials, leading to roof leaks over time. Even seemingly minor hail impacts can weaken the roof’s protective layers and result in water infiltration during subsequent rain events.
Innocent Leak
An innocent leak may appear minor initially, but if left unaddressed, it can escalate into a significant problem, causing structural damage and compromising the overall integrity of the roof. Regular inspections and prompt repairs are crucial to prevent innocent leaks from becoming major issues.
