Lurk’s Origin

A drop here, a drip there, he loved to roam, Causing havoc and chaos in every single home.

From rooftops, he’d leap and proudly declare, “I’m Lurk the Leak, beware if you dare!

I’ll soak your walls and your floors, so sly, Leaving puddles and stains, oh my, oh my!”

But little did he know, fate had a plan, To turn Lurk the Leak into a helpful hand.

One day, as he danced on a roof with delight, He heard a kind voice call out in the night.

It was Michael Dier, with a smile so bright, The owner of a Watkins Construction standing in the light.

He saw potential in Lurk, despite his little pranks, And he said, “Come with me, let’s change up your ranks!”

Michael’s crew worked with speed and with care, Repairing what Lurk damaged with expertise care.

But Lurk the Leak felt lost, no longer the same, His tricks were all gone, and he longed for his fame.

As days turned to weeks, something finally sparked, A change in Lurk’s heart, a new dream to embark.

He saw the joy in the families he’d served, Their gratitude and relief, well-deserved.

With newfound purpose, he decided to stay, As Watkins’ mascot, he’d brighten each day.

He’d visit the schools, spreading roofing know-how, Teaching kids to stay dry, and then take a bow.

Through sunshine and showers, he’d never retreat, Always standing tall as the mascot so sweet.
No longer causing trouble, he’d fixed what was wrong, A friend to the community, singing his song.
